Each October, OnlineAthens/The Athens Banner-Herald teams up with media companies across the country to educate our audience about breast cancer. We use this opportunity to raise awareness about this devastating disease, to emphasize the importance of early detection, and to raise funds to support One Day for Mammograms, a program that provides free mammograms to women who cannot otherwise afford the benefits of early detection.
The Athens Goes Pink Photo Contest is a fun way for Athens and the surrounding community to raise awareness about breast cancer and to emphasize the importance of early detection. The photo contest also provides a fun way to honor and remember those friends and loved ones that have been touched by the disease. It's a way to show your pink spirit and ensure that Athens Goes Pink during national breast cancer awareness month. The photo contest provides both an opportunity to submit and vote on photos during the month of October.
It's time to show your pink spirit. Submit your pink themed photos in one or more categories for a chance to win our Athens Goes Pink Photo Contest benefiting One Day for Mammograms.
